I've been making custom puppets since 2018, and people come to me wanting different things.
Some people love designing every detail themselves - that's why I built the Pubbets Lab designer app.
Some people have a character in mind but get overwhelmed by the design choices - that's why I created Pubbets Lab Curated, where I'll design the puppet for you based on a quick form.
And some need a fully bespoke, professional-grade build for broadcast, theatre, or brand work - that's where Brian Zimmerman and the Masterworks team come in.
Whichever path fits, you're getting a puppet built with care by people who've been doing this for years.

1. Which option is right for me?
If you have a clear creative vision and love the design process, choose the Pubbets Lab and choose every detail yourself.
If you have a character idea but aren't sure how to bring it to life, choose Pubbets Lab Curated - James will design the puppet for you based on a quick form.
If you need a fully bespoke, broadcast-quality build for performance or brand work, Pubbets Masterworks is for you!
2. How long does each option take?
Pubbets Lab and Pubbets Lab Curated builds typically take 4–5 weeks from order to delivery. Masterworks builds take around 8–9 weeks due to the bespoke design process and current demand.
3. Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. Pubbets Lab and Curated builds ship worldwide at an affordable subsidised rate. Masterworks shipping is discussed during your project consultation as it varies by build size and destination.
4. What materials do you use?
All Pubbets puppets are built with premade 'blanks'. We use high-quality foam-backed polar fleece, plastic resin eyes, professional-grade fur and wigs, internal posing wire, and durable construction designed for years of performance.
Masterworks builds use bespoke materials selected for each project.
5. Can I see examples of past work?
Yes. Visit our Premium 1-of-1 collection to see hand-built puppets from James, including past Curated-style designs available to purchase as-is.

6. What if I don't like the design?
For Pubbets Lab Curated, James will send you design options to approve before any building begins - you only pay once you're happy with the design.
For Masterworks, the collaborative design process includes multiple rounds of revisions until the design is right.
7. Are these puppets suitable for children?
Our Pubbets puppets are designed to be big enough for adults to use comfortably, but light enough for all ages. We recommend adult supervision for kids under 6.
8. Can I commission a full-body mascot?
Yes - full-body mascots are available through Pubbets Masterworks. Reach out via the Masterworks page to discuss your project needs.
