Tip 5 - Using a Puppet to Demonstrate Reading

Updated: Aug 24, 2019

I like to use puppets to break up the monotony a little and provide a different voice for the student to follow. Using puppets when reading stories is especially fun!

The student in this video has a habit of rushing through reading tasks, which leads to him making a lot of small errors.

He also doesn't comprehend what is happening in the story - it's just like a race to get to the end.

This activity helps to break down the text into smaller chunks and shows him how to read with expression and at a better pace.

The Pubbets Project was successfully funded on the IndieGoGo platform in September 2018! You can get your very own Pubbet at www.pubbets.net and join our free online training group at the Pubbets Academy here: www.facebook.com/groups/pubbets
